Lunar Progressions: The Hidden Shifts in Our Astrological Charts

In a progressed chart each day after your birth corresponds to one year of your life. We use these "progressed positions" to see how they interact with your natal chart (birth chart), revealing how these planetary influences unfold and activate different areas of your life over time.

Transits are where the planets are right now, affecting many people at once and they are a part of the collective astrological landscape. Progressions are very individual because it's your progressed chart activating your natal chart.
The most consistently influential role comes from the progressed moon. The regular Moon moves in a 28-day cycle therefore the progressed moon moves in a 28-year cycle. There are 3 things I will look for:
  • The progressed lunar return which happens for everyone around 27 and then again at 54.
  • The progressed lunar phase, particularly if it is near the new or full moon.
  • When the progressed moon changes signs or houses.
Looking at your progressed moon by sign.
Every 2 1/2 years we shift from one sign to the next and our energy shifts significantly.

If your progressed moon has been in Aries you'll be full of energy, excitement, drive, and independence. Then when it moves into Taurus you will likely feel a sudden drop in energy because your whole being is asking you to slow down, craving quiet, simplicity, and desire to indulge the senses. That can feel discombobulating because you've had all of this energy and suddenly you want to nest, have long luxurious meals or just chill. You might feel like you’re being lazy, but it’s just Taurus energy taking over. Then in another 2 ½ years Gemini takes over and you may feel scattered initially, but allowing curiosity to lead new worlds of possibilities will open to you.

Looking at your progressed moon by house.
Approximately every 2 - 3 years we shift from one house to the next and the part of our life we focus on shifts substantially.

Moving from the 11th house, which is our most social house, the house of friendships, connections, and networking into the 12th house which is very withdrawn. The 12th house is about mysticism and connecting with the higher self. We find ourselves letting go of any attachments in preparation to shift back into the 1st house where we reinvent ourselves.

The houses and signs build off of each other in these cycles. Learning to trust and understand these cycles when you experience a significant shift in your life can help you find clarity by working with them instead of feeling like you have to fight against them.
